Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below lists the time slots that are reserved - not confirmed exams. Please check with your instructor if the course will have its final exam during this time.
Before registering, be sure to go over the Goethe exam guidelines and terms and conditions on each exam page. Also, make sure you sign up for the right exam level.
Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. Please refer to the individual exam pages for more details regarding exam topics, exam conditions and conditions, as well as additional guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, you should contact the exam provider directly and make sure to provide a detailed document at the time of registration.
Faculty can view their exam times by using the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for classes that must take an exam as per NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes that are held in the evenings are scheduled for the regular class time of the final examination weeks.

Registration
Students are encouraged to consult the exam schedule online. It is important to note that the final schedule of exams may be altered at any time. Therefore, students should consult with their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should be sure to print out the official list and bring it for their exams.
In addition to the exam schedule, students should familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and terms and conditions. They are available on the page for each exam. Upon registration, students acknowledge that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
Exam locations try their best to accommodate participants who have special requirements. The nature and severity of these requirements must be stated on the registration form, and then confirmed by a doctor's attestation. The locations of the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.
If a student has three exams scheduled for the same day it is suggested to contact their department or instructor to schedule an exam to make up. It is possible to have three exams on the same day. However, this could result in a lot of stress and can affect the quality. The professor may not be able to give an opportunity to take a makeup test on a different day.
Before taking the test Students must prepare for the exam by studying the syllabus and practicing their German skills. The test is a paper-based test that assesses the ability to read, speak, and write in German. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of charge. Fees
You will have to pay an examination fee if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fees.
Practice assessments give you an overview of the style and wording, as well as the difficulty of the questions on the test. They help you evaluate your proficiency, identify areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the test.
Please note that the exam fee is non-refundable. Exam results can only by emailed and not via telephone.
